Pulp & Paper

Pulp is a lignocellulosic fibrous material prepared by separating cellulose fibers from wood, fiber plants, waste paper or rags. Mixed with water and other chemical or vegetable additives, pulp is the main raw material used in papermaking and the industrial production of other paper products. Pulp is produced by two different methods: the sulphate (kraft) process and the sulphite process. The kraft process is the more common and modern one.

Our lime product is an important commodity for the pulp industry. In the sulphate process, quicklime is used as a caustic agent and the waste sodium carbonate solution is recovered and reacted with calcium lime to produce caustic soda for reuse in the process. In sulphite plants, quicklime is used to prepare calcium bisulfite, an acidic cooking liquor used to digest or dissolve the non-cellulosic components of wood chips (paper and pulp).

Our high purity lime products offer many benefits to pulp production, including:

  • High quality guaranteed.
  • Stable purity and chemical properties.
  • Always available in large quantities.
